The tool allows you to choose attributes to retrieve, including from related entities but the condition selection area does not currently support choosing from related entities. You can manually write this simply by prefixing the attribute name with the associated entity schema name. You need to add the additional join section as seen when selecting related entity attributes but should work. Start by creating a query and select associated entity fields, then add a condition using the same prefix.attribute combinations.

I downloaded and successfully imported the oData query designed tool. I have seen some samples where you can use the tool to query data from one or more CRM entities. But I can’t find any examples that use complex queries with multiple joins & order by, group by clause to retrieve data. Is this something that’s possible using the tool or in general using the Organization.svc services ? I would appreciate if you can shed some light on this.

late reply but as far as I had this problem it was because of OrganizationData.svc endpoint was only available to webresource type of items (html, jscript, embedded silverlight) and not from outside of CRM context.

If you use the IE developer tools (F12) then you can start script debugging and inspect the object window.top.document.getElementById(“minimizeribbon”) to see if its found. Otherwise you can also look through HTML in the IE developer tool to see where this object exists.

How can I retrieve all the “products” related to a “template”, as a “template” can have multiple “products”.

It is like an “Account” can be related to multiple “Opportunities”. I want to retrieve all the “Opportunity” related to an “Account” entity.

“Product” and “Template” are custom entity I created.

Is there any way achieving the task using C#?.

I have used VmWare and VirtualBox and both run the servers fine.

To Dipin Bawa – I left the image alone and it eventually sorted itself out. The first time it started it took AGES to finally login. After that it is a bit quicker but as it is Exchange it still takes a while to boot and login. Don’t start this VPC at the last minute on a demo!

The network hosts file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts) has a hard coded entry for a private network. 192.168.1.x from what I recall(?). If your virtual LAN is different you won’t get Internet AND some of the portals and SharePoint etc do not work on the VPC. Remove or comment out that and DNS should work ok.

I have run the servers together on my HP ProBook with 8 Gig RAM and it is ok. I make sure that no other software is running. I upgraded RAM on my laptop and made the CRM image have 6Gig RAM and it runs very well.

Lastly, it seems that Partner Source has either removed the VPC or hidden the links even deeper as I can’t source the download files any more. Shame as this is an invaluable tool for partners. Maybe I am missing something .

and the default view is My Active Contact, but the filter won’t be triggered to show only my active contacts,it shows all contacts. How to trigger the filter?

It sounds like your Exchange VM is corrupt.

i have been looking for something like this for a very long time now, and thanks to your post i could do it.
i’m wondering if it would be possible to make the used view selectable or to have it use a personalised view ?

entityid and entitytype i get dynamically now, so it doesn’t really matter where i am, it always gets the related records now.
however having the option to use a personalised view, rather than getting it from the left hand nav pane would really make it fully dynamic across all entities.

i might give it a try and if i find it i will send you the adapted code.
if you want to give it a try, please let me know.

Now continue with the installation..

When the installation is done it will say “Upgrade Not Completed” .. “The operation was canceled by the user”..

Leaving the user wondering whether the update was correctly installed or not. In fact is appears to have installed correctly, but it has “remembered” that at some pointed you pressed Cancel, even though you then pressed No.

Please let me know how to capture date value in a parent form and display it on Child form. Both Parent and Child are Phone Call forms.
I have used window.top.opener.document.getElementById(“fieldname”).value and window.top.opener.parent.Xrm.Page.getAttribute(“fieldname”) but nothing worked.

Maybe you could try out a technique which I have never tried but maybe it could work. Add a new button to the Home ribbon and then add a custom hide rule to it that uses javascript to determine if the button should hide. In the code that you write try and access the DOM and trigger the whole toolbar to hide. It’s a long shot but better then modifying OOB files.
