Dynamics XRM Tools brings you a quality range of applications that provide a useful set of features to enhance your experience while using and developing against Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011. The toolset consists of a Silverlight application framework that provides a central location for accessing the tools and you simply import the managed solution into CRM to begin working with it. About Dynamics XRM Tools

The Dynamics XRM Tools project provides a modular framework for hosting Silverlight applications within a single shell.

A joint effort started by Rhett Clinton MVP and CRM Guru Ramon Tebar has produced an extensible application framework that allows additional tools to be developed and included as a part of the toolset. Rhett’s original CRM tools have been ported to the new framework (with enhancements) and additional tools have already been created with more in development.

Dynamics CRM 2011 Rollup 9 Beta is available

Sometimes there are just too many labels for something and in this case we now have the Dynamics CRM 2011 Rollup 9 R8  Q2 Service Release CRM Anywhere  BETA available, essentially Rollup 9. You can now test your code against multiple browsers and check out the latest Activity feeds features along with a bunch of other cool features coming in this major release.

CRM 2011 Online RTW available

Microsoft has released CRM 2011 Online RTW (17 Jan 2011) and you can find the press release here.

CRM 2011 RTM On-Premise has also been announced for release on the 28th of February 2011.

To activate the CRM 2011 RC, please use the following keys:

There are two options for moving an existing deployment of CRM 2011 Beta to the RC build, the steps for which are outlined below; use the option that is most appropriate for your project.

OPTION 1 – Import/Upgrade

1. Install the RC bits for the CRM Server on an alternate computer.
2. Install the CRM 2011 Reporting Extensions to the computer running SQL in the new deployment.
3. Restore the database backups of the Beta orgs to the computer running SQL in the new deployment.
4. Use Deployment Manager to Import the Beta orgs. The Import wizard will detect that the org is a Beta org and will upgrade it to the RC bits.
5. During import, use the Auto Mapping option to map CRM users to Active Directory.

OPTION 2 – Connect to Existing

1. Uninstall all CRM components from deployment computers.
2. Install the RC bits for CRM Server, and on SQL Server page of the setup wizard, specify to Connect to Existing.
3. The Setup wizard will detect and upgrade the config database and the default org to RC.
4. Use Deployment Manager to upgrade the remaining Beta orgs to RC.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Beta Server and Outlook Client Updates

There are a number of critical updates available for the CRM 2011 Beta Server and Outlook client and if you haven’t accepted to have these downloaded automatically you can download them from here manually.

The CRM Team released an updated CRM 2011 Beta SDK download today. You can find the SDK download link here along with the Developer Videos or you can find it here under the Related Resources section of the CRM 2011 Beta download page.

CRM 4 to CRM 2011 JavaScript Converter Tool

This project is superceded by the new application Dynamics XRM Tools which includes improved features http://dynamicsxrmtools.codeplex.com/

Here I have a CRM 4 to CRM 2011 Javascript Converter tool that helps convert scripts to the latest CRM 2011 Form scripting model. The converter uses an xml file that contains CRM4 and CRM5 nodes which allow the converter to find/replace specific instances of text.

I created this as an aid to help me during upgrades from CRM 4 to CRM 2011, so if you would like to test it against your CRM 2011 javascript web resources after you upgrade from CRM 4 then let me know how it goes.
